Inquiry Sundays
Join us in exploring a deeper understanding of ourselves through self-inquiry in an open, friendly and supportive setting. By exploring the nature and source of our thoughts, feelings and beliefs with meditative inquiry, we create space for potentially transformative insight into ourselves and our life situation.
Inquiry Sundays are opportunities to explore the teachings of J. Krishnamurti and other higly regarded non-dual teachers and their relevance to daily living. They often include screenings that are not readily available elsewhere, followed by an opportunity for shared inquiry and refreshments.
JUNE EVENTS
Please note that there will be no Inquiry Sunday on June 2!
In its place there will be a special dialogue event at Swanwick with Dr. Ashwani Kumar on Monday, June 3 from 9-11 am. Dr. Kumar is a professor in the Faculty of Education at St. Vincent University in Halifax and recently gave a presentation on 'Curriculum as Meditative Inquiry' at the annual gathering of the Krishnamurti Foundation of America. The dialogue will explore a spontaneously emerging question of vital interest. Due to other commitments, Dr. Kumar is unfortunately only available at this time. Donations welcome.
On Sunday, June 9, from 2- 4 pm there will be another public showing in downton Victoria at the Church of Truth (at 111 Superior Street in James Bay). A video of Krishnamurti on Freedom and Authority will be followed by refreshments and an opportunity for dialogue. No charge.
On Inquiry Sunday, June 16, the signed-up members of the meditative inquiry group will hold another dialogue that will also include a review of the sessions to date.
Our upcoming July 5-7 weekend retreat on "What is a Meditative Life?" will be hosted by Mark Lee, Trustee of the Krishnamurti Foundation of America and for many years its Executive Director. As a longtime associate of Krishnamurti he has a unique insight into his life and teaching that makes this a very special retreat for anyone interested in a deeper understanding of this teaching. The distinctive format includes several in-depth dialogues with special guest participants. (click here).
