About Us
The Centre opened in 1977 as "Wolf Lake School", based on the teaching of J. Krishnamurti who himself visited the school in 1978. After the closure of the school in 1981, the property was, with his approval, converted into the "Swanwick Study Centre", operated by the Krishnamurti Educational Centre of Canada.
Swanwick Centre today is a place for reflection and inquiry into the nature of truth and freedom that transcends the beliefs and assumptions of conditioned thinking. This inquiry within each one of us, that is not dependent on belief or spiritual authority, is at the core of Krishnamurti's teaching. Contemporary approaches offering further pointers to such an inquiry are also included in our program.
