THE ART OF PRESENCE

|
This residential weekend retreat will take place October 22-24, 2010 at the KECC’s Swanwick Centre, located on a
beautiful 32 acre ocean-front property in Metchosin, near Eckhart Tolle (see www.eckharttolle.com) has
emerged as one of the best known spiritual teachers of our time. His books: “The
Power of Now” and “A New Earth” are internationally
acclaimed. His teaching has affinity with that of J. Krishnamurti, with whom Eckhart has acknowledged
“a deep link”. This retreat will also introduce,
by way of video and quotations, Krishnamurti’s core teaching. Stress, anxiety and disease are common to our modern way of life.
Their root cause can often be traced to our state of mind and the way we
approach life. A key to the art of
living is meeting life more fully, in the present moment, with a better
understanding of what often prevents us from doing so.
This video-series covers the following themes: Living By Grace Discovering
the Extraordinary in the Ordinary Relationships Dissolving
the Painbody Freedom
from Time Questions
& Answers (fear, spirituality, emotions, love and more)
Activities
Video showings including an introductory DVD to J. Krishnamurti's Teachings which had an early
impact on Eckhardt Tolle, interactive opportunities, awareness exercises, guided meditation and movement sessions.
A Supportive
Environment
The Centre’s beautiful natural setting is ideally suited for deeper
enquiry and the emergence of stillness.
To optimize this process and minimize distractions, silence is
recommended for part of the retreat. The Facilitators This retreat is organized and facilitated by Ralph and Madelaine Tiller. Ralph has in recent years regularly hosted video showings of Eckhart’s talks in Victoria, B.C. He directs the East-West Clinic, a holistic health practice in Victoria and is a registered acupuncturist and Chinese Medicine practitioner.
