Hillary Rodrigues (Ph.D. McMaster) is a professor of Religious Studies at the University of Lethbridge, Alberta. A specialist in Eastern religious traditions, he is the author of various books and scholarly articles, including World Religions: A Guide to the Essentials (co-authored with Dr. Thomas Robinson), Introducing Hinduism (Routledge), Ritual Worship of the Great Goddess (SUNY Press), and Krishnamurti’s Insight (Pilgrims Publishing).

In his introductory talk on Friday evening in Victoria, Prof. Rodrigues draws upon both personal and studied understandings of pivotal, transformative insight. In particular, he will address the crucial role that insight can play in radically changing our understanding of ourselves and the world. He will focus on the place of “inquiry” in the quest for insight, and the capacity to engage in that inquiry in our daily lives. The talk will be followed by a Question and Answer session.
The follow-up weekend workshop at Swanwick Centre will include two additional talks, on Saturday and Sunday morning, and Q & A sessions with Prof. Rodrigues, videos by other spiritual teachers on insight, opportunities for dialogue and some tranquil time in a splendid setting inquiring into the nature of Mind, Self, and Truth.
